FUNCHAL (Portugal), 20 February 2013 - Last weekend the Finnish village of Tuuri hosted the 2013 FIM Snowcross World Championship, which was one of the best events organized in Tuuri, and it received more than 4.000 spectators. Besides, the 2013 edition has also been the best FIM Snowcross World Championship edition due to the LIVE worldwide TV Coverage in Hi Definition and the top class facilities, such as the double floor pitlane. For this reason Youthstream and the Tuuri organizer have started the preparations to have the final race of the 2014 FIM Snowcross World Championship organized again in Tuuri.

Mr Daniele Rizzi, Youthstream CEO, said: “This 2013 FIM Snowcross World Championship has set the new benchmark record in the history of the sport because of the LIVE TV Coverage in High Definition, the massive display of structures like the two-storey Pitlane and the involvement of Youthstream, the FIM, the organizer and the Finnish federation. Now the way to go is clear and it is a way up, we will be looking forward to the upcoming.”

Dr Wolfgang Srb, FIM/CMS Director, added: “I’m very happy of this highly professional event, which has lifted the FIM Snowcross World Championship to the next level. It is great bases to grow in the future and I’m happy with the commitment of Tuuri for the years to come.”

Mr Vesa Keskinen, Veljekset Keskinen Oy CEO, explained: “Every year we organize about 100 different events, some of them are small and others are really big. We have a very professional team to do it, so this is why I decided to turn my shopping village into the most popular tourist attraction in Finland. In 1996 we organized the first Ice Fishing competition and in 2003 we broke a Guinness Record, which we currently still hold, having 26.462 participants. However, organizing the 2013 edition of the FIM Snowcross World Championship made me realize that I want to do it again here in Tuuri. From all the events we have organized, this one is very special and this year everything went perfect, even the weather. I am sure we can have a successful event next year in Tuuri.”

Kurt Ljungqvist, FIM Snowcross World Championship Race Director, said: “Today we wrote a special day in the History of Snowcross because of the development we have just achieved, and Tuuri and Finland must be proud to be the involved in this development. We had lovely races, exactly what Snowcross needs to have, and the Snowcross World Champion was decided in the last lap in the last minute. We can still develop the venue of Tuuri a lot; they have top class facilities, but we can still improve a lot and make it better, especially thanks the support from the Keskinen brothers and their enthusiasm for Snowcross, this is the perfect partner we need. I look forward to the upcoming years, especially the 2014 when Tuuri will host the end of the multiple event series.”
